Continuation of a Theme

This article is a great follow up to my earlier post about why the government isn't looking out for you.

This will be heresy coming from a future attorney, but this article is right on. Tort reform should be the first thing to be fixed in any health care legislation. The cost of insurance and lawsuits is out of control. It is so outrageous that most cases are settled even if the doctor wasn't in the wrong. There is such fear of a huge jury verdict that insurance companies and doctors roll over begging for mercy rather than risk a trial. However, when you look at the proposed health care legislation there is nothing related to tort reform in the bill. More of the same old same old from our dear friends and Representatives in Washington.
