Sotomayor's Bias Resume

In another example of her focus on identity politics, it now comes out that Sotomayor was a board member for a Puerto Rican legal advocacy organization that brought a suit charging racial discrimination in NYC police promotions during the 1980's. She then sat as a judge and heard a case that was related to the exact same issue (New Haven Fire fighters Case -- Ricci v. DeStefano).

I'm smelling bias here. The least she could have done was recuse herself. It's impossible to say a judge will never have conflicts of interest, but when they are this blatant, you recuse yourself.

ABA Code of Judicial Conduct:

CANON 2
A judge shall avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety in all of the judge’s activities.

CANON 3
A judge shall perform the duties of judicial office impartially and diligently.

Personally, I can't wait to read some of these documents.
